PARKING AND CHECK-IN EXPERIENCE
1. Please arrive and depart Yellowwood State Forest via IN-46 and Yellowwood Lake Rd (southern entrance) to avoid race disruption.
2. Parking will be in the grassy rally camp area near the north end of Yellowwood Lake. If this grass lot is too soft for parking, the event will have a shuttle bus running between 7 am and 11 am with stops at the main campground loop and at the park office lot intersection with Yellowwood Road (by the property office mailbox). These sites are about one mile south of the race site. A van shuttle will be available in the afternoon to return runners to their vehicles. All passengers on shuttles are expected to wear face covering and observe social distancing.
5. START EXPERIENCE
1. All runners in all distances will start and finish at the north end of Yellowwood lake. 2022 will be a loop course.
TT The start and finish line will be north of the rally camp, at the Jackson Creek Trail Parking Lot. The start will be northbound on the gravel Yellowwood Lake Road, 0.3 miles, to the Cemetery aid station where runners will head west into the trails.
3.
COURSE
1 Indiana Trail Running Association works hard to plan and prep the courses.
The courses consist of a LONG LOOP (approximately 13.4 miles) and a SHORT LOOP (approximately 6 miles). The short loop is nested inside the long loop. Both run counterclockwise around Yellowwood Lake.
The short lap is nearly identical to prior years’ half-marathon and quarter-marathon.
The long lap has more than 10 miles of trail never used in the Tecumseh Trail Challenge.
There are three aid stations, named Cemetery, Dam, and Dubois Ridge Rd.
The longest stretch without an aid station is about 6 miles, at the beginning of each long loop.
Refer to course map for details.
START SCHEDULE:
50k 9:00 am one short lap + two long laps
Quarter 9:15 am one short lap
Marathon 10:00 am two long laps
Half 10:15 am one long lap
AID STATION EXPERIENCE
1. Aid stations will serve water, sports drink (Gatorade), and a limited amount of sealed-package food (such as energy bars).
5 . Runners may hand-carry drop bags to the Cemetery aid station, or place them in a designated spot at the start line for transport by race volunteers. Please do not drive to the Cemetery aid station. Drop bags must be collected before 6 pm. Leave no trace. Our volunteers are not here to clean up after you.
POST-RACE EXPERIENCE
1. Overall and age group awards will be presented immediately upon finish by race staff.
2. Boy Scout Troop 219 will again offer post-race food, in a controlled setup where the runner receives a bag of food as requested.
Please exit Yellowwood State Forest by going south on Yellowwood Lake Rd to IN-46.

COURSE:
The Tecumseh Trail Challenge course provides a demanding route in Yellowwood State Forest, during the beautiful autumn colors of South-central Indiana. A portion of the 40-mile Tecumseh Trail is used for the race course.
The trail surface varies from narrow forest trail to wide fire road, gravel, dirt, and paved roads. Several up and downhills of 200-300’ elevation are along the course, along with many smaller hills. The total ascent is approximately 3200’ for the marathon (2021-22). See the elevation profile for more information. Most runners' gps have recorded the course at 5-10% longer than stated distance.
Participants may run or walk, but must maintain pace to meet cutoff time. Finish line timing and support will end at 6:30 pm (8.5 hours for marathon, 9.5 for 50k). This is about 17 minutes per mile for 50k; or 18 minutes per mile for marathon. The field is limited to 800 total runners or 200 per distance, due to logistics. Please Note: Dogs are not permitted on the course.

These sites are about one mile south of the race site. A van shuttle will be available in the afternoon to return runners to their vehicles. 3. Runners are expected to spread appropriately while waiting for the start.
COURSE
1. Indiana Trail Running Association has been working hard to plan and prep the courses.
2. The courses consist of a long loop (approximately 13.1 miles) and a short loop (approximately 6.7 miles). The short loop is nested inside the long loop. Both run counterclockwise around Yellowwood Lake.

Half 10:15 am one long lap
AID STATION EXPERIENCE
